Sunday morning on January 13th, 2018, I went downstairs and when I stepped on the carpet i noticed that it was all wet. Then I called my husband to come and see what was going on. He removed the door from the subfloor and that’s when we realized that we have had a sewer backup. We were panicking, we didn’t know what to do because we never experienced anything like that before, so we called our representative Bob Keays from Higgins insurance and he was very helpful. He told us to first start by calling service master and a plumber which we did immediately. Within an hour they were here to remove the water and investigate and they told us that it was a sewer backup. The following day, the adjuster was already here to investigate and that same day we were told that we were covered. Bob called us to check how everything was going and he helped us find out how we were covered for. And from that day, everything was going very fast. They came to take the furniture out and remove the carpet and the subfloor, clean and desinfect the concrete. And everything went very well. We couldn’t ask for a better service. On that same week we received a call from a friend and when we told him what we’ve been through he wanted to know everything about the coverage and services of that insurance company. A few days later, he called us to let us know that he had changed to Higgins insurance too, and he told us that he had a much better coverage with better rates than his previous insurance company.
